How to Plan the Perfect Arcade Birthday at Providha Fun City: Checklist and Budget
Planning a birthday party in Lagos does not have to mean choosing between entertainment, food and a suitable place for everyone to relax. An arcade birthday brings all three together, giving children, teenagers and even adults a fun activity while creating plenty of opportunities for games, prizes and memorable moments.
At Providha Fun City, an arcade celebration can also be part of a bigger experience. Guests can enjoy arcade games, dining and other entertainment in one destination, while families and groups can explore options such as the Family Day Pass, Weekend Experience or Seafood & Stay.
Whether you are organising a child's birthday, a teenager's celebration or a group outing, this guide will help you plan an arcade birthday that is enjoyable, organised and easy to manage.
Why Choose an Arcade for a Birthday Party?
An arcade gives guests something to do throughout the celebration. Instead of relying entirely on music, food or conversation to keep everyone entertained, guests can participate in games at their own pace.
Arcades are particularly useful for birthday groups because they offer different types of games and challenges. Some guests may prefer testing their skills, while others simply want to compete with friends or collect tickets for prizes.
An arcade birthday can work well for:
Children's birthday parties
Teen birthday celebrations
Family gatherings
School and youth group outings
Corporate family days
Group celebrations
Casual outings with friends
The variety also means that guests do not necessarily have to enjoy the same type of game. Everyone can choose activities that suit them.
What Types of Arcade Games Can You Expect?
Arcades typically feature several categories of games, each offering a different experience.
Ticket Games
Ticket games reward successful play with tickets that can be collected and exchanged for prizes.
These games can add an extra layer of excitement to a birthday party because guests have something to work towards beyond simply completing a game.
Depending on the game, players may earn tickets based on their score, timing, accuracy or other achievements.
Skill Games
Skill games test abilities such as coordination, timing, concentration and accuracy.
These can be especially appealing when friends compete against one another to see who can achieve the highest score.
Skill-based games can also make the arcade more interactive because players can improve their performance with practice.
Multiplayer Games
Multiplayer machines allow two or more people to play together, making them ideal for birthday groups.
Instead of playing individually, friends and family members can compete or cooperate. This makes multiplayer games a good option when you want the group to interact rather than simply move from machine to machine.
How Do Arcade Prizes and Redemption Work?
One of the most exciting parts of an arcade visit can be turning game tickets into prizes.
The general process is simple: play eligible ticket games, collect the tickets you earn and redeem them for available prizes.
Before starting, it is worth checking how the arcade's current ticket and redemption system works. Ask about the available games, ticket values, redemption process and prize options so you can plan your spending accordingly.
For birthday parties, you can also decide whether to give each guest their own arcade allowance or create a shared budget for the group.
How Much Should You Budget for an Arcade Birthday?
Your budget will depend on several factors, including the number of guests, the amount of arcade play you want to provide, food requirements and any additional entertainment or services.
Rather than choosing a fixed amount without knowing your group's needs, start with these categories:
Arcade game credit or play budget
Birthday food and refreshments
Cake and birthday treats
Decorations
Additional entertainment
Arcade prizes
Restaurant vouchers, if required
Accommodation for overnight celebrations
For larger groups, ask Providha Fun City about current group rates and birthday packages. This can help you understand the available options before setting your final budget.
It is also useful to ask whether arcade credits, food and other activities can be bundled into your booking.
A Simple Arcade Birthday Checklist
Use this checklist when planning your celebration.
Before the Party
Choose your preferred date and time.
Estimate the number of guests.
Set your overall budget.
Ask about available birthday packages.
Confirm arcade pricing and game options.
Ask about group rates.
Plan your food and refreshments.
Decide whether you need restaurant vouchers.
Ask about available prizes and redemption.
Confirm whether you can bring a birthday cake or decorations.
Make your reservation in advance.
On the Day
Arrive early enough to organise the group.
Explain any arcade rules to younger guests.
Make sure children are supervised appropriately.
Give guests clear instructions about their game credits or spending limits.
Keep tickets together if the group is pooling them.
Allow enough time for prize redemption.
Schedule food and birthday activities around the arcade session.
How to Get More From Your Arcade Budget
You do not necessarily have to spend more to make the arcade experience more enjoyable.
Start by deciding whether your priority is playing as many games as possible, earning tickets or focusing on particular games.
If tickets and prizes are important, pay attention to how different games award tickets. Some games may reward successful play, while others may provide different ticket opportunities.
You can also create friendly challenges between guests. For example, guests can compete for the highest score or see who can collect the most tickets.
For younger children, it may be better to focus on enjoyment rather than the number of prizes they take home. The goal is to create a memorable birthday rather than turn the celebration into a competition over who wins the most.
Make It a Full-Day Experience at Providha Fun City
One of the advantages of planning an arcade birthday at Providha Fun City is that the celebration does not have to revolve around the arcade alone.
You can build a full day around games, food and relaxation.
After spending time in the arcade, guests can enjoy a meal or refreshments at Back Pouch Restaurant or De Plate Cafeteria, depending on the options available for your group.
This makes it easier to keep the celebration in one location rather than moving between separate entertainment and dining venues.
For families who want even more time at the destination, packages such as the Family Day Pass can help create a broader family experience.
Consider a Weekend Experience
If your birthday falls on a weekend, you can turn a few hours of arcade entertainment into a longer outing.
A Weekend Experience can give families and groups the opportunity to combine entertainment, food and relaxation rather than treating the arcade as a standalone activity.
This can be particularly useful for families travelling from different parts of Lagos or groups looking for something to do together over the weekend.
Take the Celebration Further With Seafood & Stay
For a special birthday or family celebration, you may want to extend the experience beyond a single day.
The Seafood & Stay option combines dining and overnight accommodation, allowing guests to enjoy their time at the destination without having to rush home immediately after the celebration.
This can be an interesting option for families celebrating a milestone birthday or groups looking for a short getaway alongside their entertainment.
Before booking, ask about the current package inclusions, availability and pricing so you can choose an option that fits your group.
Safety Tips for an Arcade Birthday
Arcade games are designed for entertainment, but basic safety and supervision are still important, particularly when younger children are involved.
Parents and organisers should:
Keep an eye on younger children while they move between games.
Follow the instructions displayed on individual machines.
Avoid overcrowding around machines.
Keep food and drinks away from electronic equipment.
Encourage children to take breaks between games.
Make sure guests follow venue rules.
Ask staff for assistance if a machine appears faulty or unsafe.
For larger birthday groups, having adults or designated supervisors available can make the celebration easier to manage.
What to Ask Before Booking
Before confirming your arcade birthday, contact Providha Fun City and ask about the details that matter most to your group.
These may include:
Current arcade pricing
Birthday packages
Group rates
Available games
Ticket and prize redemption
Food and catering options
Restaurant vouchers
Birthday cake arrangements
Additional entertainment
Family Day Pass availability
Weekend Experience availability
Seafood & Stay availability
Hotel accommodation
Reservation requirements
Prices and package inclusions can change, so confirming the latest information before paying or finalising your plans is always worthwhile.
Arcade Birthday or Full Entertainment Day?
An arcade birthday can be as simple or as elaborate as you want it to be.
For a smaller celebration, you might simply book arcade time and arrange food afterwards. For a larger event, you can combine arcade games, prizes, dining and birthday activities into a structured party.
And if you want to make the occasion a full family getaway, adding accommodation turns the birthday into more than just a few hours of entertainment.
That flexibility is what makes an arcade a practical choice for different types of celebrations.
