Best Family-Friendly Arcade Games to Try in Lagos and Where to Find Them
Looking for an arcade in Lagos where the whole family can have fun? Modern arcades have evolved far beyond the classic video games many people remember. Today, you can find everything from ticket redemption machines and competitive racing games to interactive experiences, skill-based challenges, family sit-down games, and prize-winning attractions.
For families, birthday groups, couples, and corporate teams, an arcade can be more than just a place to play games. It can be the centrepiece of an entire day out.
In Lagos, Providha Fun City offers a multi-experience destination where visitors can enjoy arcade entertainment alongside dining, family activities, and accommodation.
What Makes a Great Family Arcade?
The best family arcade experiences give different age groups something to enjoy. Parents may want games they can play with their children, teenagers may prefer competitive challenges, while younger children often enjoy colourful, interactive attractions.
When choosing an arcade in Lagos, consider:
The variety of games available
Whether the games are suitable for different age groups
How the arcade's payment or game-credit system works
Whether players can earn tickets or prizes
Safety and supervision
Pricing and available packages
Seating and food options
Birthday and group-event facilities
Accessibility and parking
Whether the arcade is part of a larger entertainment destination
A venue that combines several of these features can make planning a family outing or group event much easier.
Types of Arcade Games to Try in Lagos
Racing Games
Racing games are among the easiest arcade attractions for families and groups to enjoy together.
Players can compete against friends or family members while experiencing the excitement of driving, speed, and competition. Racing games are also particularly popular for teenagers and adults who want something more competitive.
For families, they can create memorable moments when parents challenge their children to a race — and discover that the children are much better drivers than expected.
Ticket Redemption Games
Ticket redemption games combine gameplay with the excitement of winning prizes.
Players typically earn tickets based on their performance, which can then be exchanged for prizes according to the arcade's redemption system.
These games appeal to children because there is an extra reward attached to playing. They also encourage repeat attempts as players try to improve their scores and collect more tickets.
Before playing, it is worth checking how the venue's ticket system works and what types of prizes are available.
Skill-Based Games
Skill-based arcade games give players an opportunity to test their timing, accuracy, coordination, or reaction speed.
These can be particularly entertaining for families because different players can compete on the same game regardless of their age or experience.
For corporate groups, skill-based games can also provide a relaxed way to introduce friendly competition into a team outing.
Family Sit-Down Games
Not every arcade game requires standing or intense movement.
Family sit-down games can be ideal when parents and children want to play together while taking a break between other activities.
These games can also work well as part of a longer family outing, giving visitors a chance to alternate between energetic activities and more relaxed entertainment.
Interactive Arcade Experiences
Modern arcades increasingly include interactive experiences that combine traditional gaming with movement, sound, visuals, and physical interaction.
These attractions can appeal to visitors who want something more immersive than a conventional screen-based game.
For families, interactive games can also provide a shared experience where everyone watches, participates, and reacts together.
Why Arcades Are Great for Birthday Parties
Planning a children's birthday party can involve coordinating food, entertainment, activities, guests, and a suitable venue.
An arcade can simplify the entertainment side of the celebration by giving guests access to multiple games and activities in one location.
Instead of organising a single activity that everyone has to participate in, guests can choose from different games and experiences.
For a birthday celebration, consider asking the venue about:
Group or birthday packages
Game credits
Prize redemption
Food and drinks
Reserved seating
Party areas
Guest capacity
Additional entertainment
Parking and arrival arrangements
The right combination can turn an ordinary birthday outing into an experience that children remember long after the party is over.
Arcade Fun for Corporate Groups
Arcades aren't only for children.
Corporate groups can use arcade entertainment as part of team outings, staff celebrations, informal networking events, or end-of-year activities.
Competitive games naturally create opportunities for interaction. Colleagues can challenge one another, form teams, and enjoy a break from the usual office environment.
A multi-experience venue can be particularly convenient for corporate organisers because entertainment, food, and other activities can be arranged in the same location.
Visit Providha Fun City for More Than an Arcade
For visitors who want an arcade experience that can become part of a larger day out, Providha Fun City offers several experiences within one destination.
Guests can enjoy arcade entertainment before moving on to other activities, having a meal, or simply relaxing.
The advantage is convenience. Instead of travelling between multiple locations for entertainment, food, and accommodation, visitors can combine several parts of their outing in one place.
This makes Providha Fun City suitable for families looking for a weekend activity, groups celebrating a special occasion, and corporate organisers planning an entertaining group experience.
Make It a Full Day Out
One of the easiest ways to enjoy an arcade visit is to build it into a complete itinerary.
For example, a family day at Providha Fun City could look something like this:
Morning: Arrive and explore the entertainment options.
Late morning: Spend time playing arcade games and competing for scores or prizes.
Afternoon: Take a break for lunch at Back Pouch or De Plate.
Later afternoon: Continue with other family-friendly activities and experiences.
Evening: Have dinner, relax, or extend the experience with an overnight stay.
The exact itinerary can be adjusted depending on the ages of the children, group size, and activities available on the day.
Combine Arcade Entertainment With a Family Day Pass
For families who want more than a short arcade visit, a curated package can make planning easier.
Providha Fun City's Family Day Pass is designed around spending quality time together and experiencing more of what the destination offers.
Rather than paying for and organising every part of the outing separately, families can explore available package options and choose an experience that fits their plans.
If you're travelling with children, check what is included in the package before booking, including arcade access, activities, food, duration, and any age or participation requirements.
Add Dining to Your Arcade Experience
Playing games can work up an appetite.
Having restaurants available within the same destination means families and groups can take a break from the arcade without ending the day out.
At Providha Fun City, visitors can incorporate dining at Back Pouch and De Plate into their outing.
This is particularly convenient for birthday celebrations and corporate groups, where keeping everyone together can make the experience easier to manage.
Arcade Visit Booking Tips
Before heading to an arcade in Lagos, a little planning can make the experience smoother.
Check the Pricing Structure
Arcades may use different payment systems. Some operate with game credits, cards, tokens, or packages.
Find out how much gameplay your chosen amount provides and whether unused credits can be carried over.
Ask About Prizes
If your children are particularly interested in redemption games, ask about the prize system before playing.
Knowing how tickets are earned and redeemed can help set expectations.
Consider Your Group Size
A small family may be able to visit spontaneously, while birthday parties and corporate groups may need advance arrangements.
For larger groups, contact the venue ahead of time to confirm availability, packages, seating, and other requirements.
Check Age and Height Requirements
Some arcade attractions may have age, height, or participation restrictions.
Checking these details beforehand can help you plan activities that everyone in your group can enjoy.
Look Beyond the Arcade
If you're visiting a multi-experience venue such as Providha Fun City, don't plan your entire visit around the arcade alone.
Allow time for dining, other entertainment, family activities, and relaxation. This can turn a quick gaming session into a full day out.
What Should You Bring to an Arcade?
For a family arcade visit, you generally don't need much.
Comfortable clothing is useful, especially if you're planning to combine arcade games with other recreational activities. Parents may also want to bring essentials for younger children, such as water, snacks where permitted, and any items needed during a longer outing.
If you're attending a birthday or corporate event, check with the venue beforehand regarding decorations, outside food, photography, and other event-specific arrangements.
Make Your Next Arcade Visit a Lagos Experience
An arcade in Lagos can be much more than a collection of games. With the right venue, it can become part of a complete experience involving family time, friendly competition, food, celebrations, and even an overnight stay.
Providha Fun City brings these elements together, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy arcade entertainment while exploring other experiences available across the destination.
Whether you're looking for something fun to do with the kids, planning a birthday celebration, organising a corporate outing, or simply searching for a different weekend activity in Lagos, an arcade visit can be an easy way to turn an ordinary day into something memorable.
